Atmo Yatri (Xá)

Atmo Yatri, the cosmic wanderer also known as Xá was born in southern Brazil and soon followed a path full of spirituality, art and creativity.

From an early age, Xá lived in artistic cultural psychedelic niches in 1980’s. He participated in devotional bhakti movements such as Krishna Consciousness and Ananda Marga, where he studied and practiced the teachings of Osho, integrating his knowledge in collective practices in the first alternative Communities of Alto Paraíso, Osho Lua and OCA (Osho Creative Arts).

Xá took part in the Santo Daime Church, where he learned the teachings of Mestre Irineu and his ritualistic approach to the usage of Ayahuasca. Simultaneously he spiritually nurtured himself through the direct contact with the Indigenous and Afro Brazilian Quilombola Traditions of Planalto Central of Brazil.

After different spiritual initiations in many cultural contexts throughout the years he developed a particular and synthetic form of working with Ayahuasca, that honors, embraces and transcends the teachings gathered in all these spontaneous and lively sources of wisdom and compassion.

Xá always considered the loving service in the benefit of all beings is at the heart of all legitimate spiritual life.

After the end of OCA, Xá started working in the foundations of what is today the AyaZen Center. In 2008 he and his partner Pushya created the Tsunami space, a Center composed of a Great Meditation Hall and accommodations for visitors at the heart of Alto Paraíso.

We have been receiving the visit of many people and groups interested in initiating or deepening in the arts of the consecration of the Sacred Medicine. His intercultural worldview attracts visitors from different cultures and spiritual tendencies.

He is the spiritual mentor of AyaZen Center that follows this flow of rich and diverse experiences, allowing new generations to receive the spiritual transmissions and initiations required to cope with the great crisis we have been facing.

He is a silent synthesis of wisdom and compassion.

“Free yourself from yourself.”

A multidimensional visionary artist.

Xá has discovered in many forms of arts and crafts a path to subtle dimensions of the mind. Through the cultivation of mindfulness in the moment of creation and dissolution of the many lives and deaths  we experience, we can connect ourselves with a sense of cosmic totality that has always belonged to us.

His lifework is a  register filled with life of his introspective experiences.

Xá shows us in practice that the result is not so important as the constant qualification of the presence applied in the entire process, the intention you bring to every moment of the cycle of creation and dissolution. Therefore, anything you decide to do becomes a way to cultivate the spontaneous presence of the Consciousness.

From the beginning of his path, his artistic and spiritual perspectives have helped people find their own ways for a more fulfilled creative life.

Jonas B. Xavier

Jonas Brandalise Xavier is Xá’s biological son and his spiritual brother from many lives. He had his cultural and intellectual formation influenced by his Master-Mother, a History Professor and scholar that transmitted rational, humanistic and universalistic values from an early age. He traveled the world, living a peculiar life among many different cultures, soon to be convinced that the human experience in all its wonders and terrors is part-totality of even bigger contexts and all consciousness share the same Source.

He was interested in the great questions of humanity since his childhood, and he had access to quality information from many different sources.

His ideal of positively participating of the collective life lead him to Law School, and lately to work as an analyst in Brazilian’s Public Ministery, in the Criminal Section. However, his world view and philosophy of life aligned with teachings of the Buda soon revealed the harsh reality of the legal system to be unsatisfactory and counterproductive. The constant deterioration of the political reality of Brazil made him question his role in the incoherent bureaucratic system of the State.

A deep existential crisis had been manifesting itself throughout a decade, and at 33 years of age, he felt unable to contribute to the well being of humanity in his work and life in general, so he left in search of the lost elements of his life.  From this point on, Jonas reconnected with his father and was able to rediscover his strength and purpose in his father’s spiritual legacy.

After intense meditative practices through the sacred medicine he strongly reconnected himself with his own wisdom lineage, and profoundly transformed by the experience, he quit his job and his life in Southern Brazil. In 2018 he initiated a long retreat in Alto Paraíso with his father, refining his theoretical and practical comprehension of spiritual technologies destined to train mind and heart. Ever since he has been helping Xá in receiving and guiding groups of different parts of the world, acquiring experiential wisdom of the sutil phenomena of the mind.

The Integral Theory formulated by Ken Wilber (among others) has provided him a more accurate wider view and glossary to comprehend and integrate different human wisdoms, such as the experiences and perceptions that he has accumulated in his life and hermitage.

Along with Xá, he decided to work in structuring and creation of the Center AyaZen of Integral Entheogenic Studies and Practices, where he is the head director. He believes AyaZen Center can be a time-space of integration for the different human perspectives, to bring more harmony and comprehension among the cultures.

His life goal is to simultaneously continue his personal introspective practice and, according to his capacities, help other people lead their own spiritual paths. In this mission he uses his intuitive capacity to use successive questioning and contemplation to accomplish his nature connected (empty of the intrinsic sense) of reality and approach the meditative state of “not knowing”. He also develops the capacity of using non sectarian Ayahuasca as a rescue technology of the Consciousness through the alignment of mind and heart.
